BUSINESS WEEK - FAIR

ITHS Business Week is back and it is bigger than ever! This is ITHS Senior Girls Section's second consecutive year and its largest business event yet.

The event was held on March 5th-7th 2017 at Senior Girls Section. On the first two days, teams had to present their unique business ideas using Powerpoint Presentations and elaborated on their strategies and promotions in front of a panel of jury.
During the three-day long event teams of students promoted their businesses containing food, desserts, clothing, accessories, stationeries, special services and many more. Our students established their very own businesses, promoted with creative banners, leaflets, websites, their own brand's television commercials and sold their products and services in the most professional way possible on 7th March, 2017. All of these accomplishments wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of the students and the endeavors of the event initiator, Ms. Basma Binte Mahbub.
The colorful event highlighted the talents of our young entrepreneurs and their unique business ideas. Many family members of the students joined the event and enjoyed the customer services and purchased a wide variety of items.
We sat down for an interview with the Head of the ITHS Business Studies Department, Ms. Basma and here is what she had to say:
Interviewer: "What do you like most about this event?"
Ms. Basma: "I liked the challenging aspects of all the stalls and that everyone took it very seriously." Business week is actually my brainchild and last year was the first time it has ever been implemented. After I joined as a business teacher, I really wanted the business department to have a signature activity. Since last year's event got such a huge response from the parents, teachers and students, this year we managed to make the event even more grand and spectacular!
Interviewer: "Do the students have what it takes to start their own business?"
Ms. Basma: "Of course! I have observed a lot of strong business skills among the students.  Everything about their advertising, TVC, banners, managing the stalls, customer service, selling of products etc was very professional. So I strongly believe they have what it takes to not only run a business but be successful at it too!"

After all the judgments, the Award Distribution ceremony was held on 14th March, 2017 where Team "BRIDGE" took home the medal for first position, while team 'The Galactic Tea Room' came to a close runner up position. Lastly, teams 'Memage' and 'One Stop' both teams tied for the third position.
