Remembering Martyr Intellectuals Day at Girls Section

ITHS Girls Section Teachers, Students remembered Martyr Intellectuals Day with respect.
The Social Awareness Club and Bangla Club organized the program. Mrs. Hannan gave speech about the importance of the day and Mrs. Raihana gave speech on the duties of as a citizen of this country. Art, Bangla and Music clubs handover the prizes among the winner of Victory day competitions.

Grade-10 Parents Visit

In the first week of December, Ms. Menekse, along with Mr. Majumder, Mr.Shams , Mr.Imran and Ms. Nazia visited the students Fariza Tasnim, Maliha T-Masood, Nasima Mohammad Helal and Nusrat Jahan in the evening. After spending some quality time with their families they sat down for a delicious meal. They had food and chatted for quite some time. This made their bond stronger allowing the students and their parents to approach the fellow teachers without any hesitation.

3rd Business Week 2017 held at ITHS Senior Girls Section

The ‘3rd Business Week’ for  2017-2018 session was seemingly the most exciting week for all business background students of ITHS Senior Girls’ Section. The festivities of Business Week started on 26th November, 2017 with a new activity, ‘The Collective Bargaining Session’ on Day 1, followed by the ‘Business Idea Demonstration’ that is, the presentations on the students’ business ideas on Day 2 & 3. On Day 4, the students heavily marketed their brands, product and services by advertisements, promotional offers and by engaging in public relation activities. Finally the festivities end by the most anticipated ‘Battle of the Businesses’ on Day  5 where the participants battled head on head with each other on the basis of sales of their products and services and ultimately by making profit.

In the third week of November, Ms. Menekse, along with Mr. Ozer, Mr.Kamrul and Mr.Mirza, visited the students Zainab Tanzim, Mayeesha Adiba, Afsana Akther Tania and Mahiyat Nawar Mantaqa in the evening. After spending some quality time with their families they sat down for a delicious meal. They had food and chatted for quite some time. This made their bond stronger allowing the students and their parents to approach the fellow teachers without any hesitation.

Grade 11 Visits Escape Myst

The students of Grade 11 with their class teacher Ms.Hamide, after a sleepless night in the hostel, headed to the most-looked-for event of the year: Escape   Myst. Escape Myst, a world where  their  detective skills would be put to the test in real life! It is the first escape game room in Dhaka. With two uniquely designed game rooms “The Missing Writer” & “The Stolen Artifacts”,9 students were divided up into two teams. They assuredly have had a unique and thrilling time with friends solving detective cases, unlike any other they've experienced before!

Grade 11 Hostel Stay Over

The students of Grade 11, along with their class teacher Ms.Hamide, had the long-awaited stay-over in the hostel on November 23,2017.  After having cooked and eaten all the scrumptious food with relish, they enjoyed  the night with games, snaps, dances and all.

Celebration of Successful Science Project Contest

In presence of  Deputy Head Mr. Rockibul Karim, a lunch was arranged by school management for appreciating hard work of science teachers in science project contest. Teachers have enjoyed their meal and spent quality time together in a friendly environment. 

Parents Visits of Grade-10

Grade 10 Hostel Stay over

For better interaction between teachers and students, the class teacher of Grade 10 Ms. Menekse arranged a hostel stay over last Thursday. A lot of student actively participated and had fun time together. The students all gathered to have dinner together and after meal, the students had a great time playing and talking each other. This wonderful evening ended with watching a nice movie together.

3rd Business Week - 2017

Class-12B (Radio Foorti & Nandos Operation Tour)

In order to lighten up the aura of the upcoming Business Week 2017, the students of class 12B got the opportunity to take a tour of Radio Foorti in order to get an idea about Media and Radio Station Business Operation as well as visited the South African franchise Nando's to learn about Food & Beverage Business Operations. The students were accompanied by Ms. Fariya Hossain and it was an amazing experience for them. They were allowed to access Nando's kitchen and pantry as well as the restricted studios and recording rooms of Radio Foorti. The students had a meet and greet session with their favorite RJs who enlightened them about the broadcasting policies. To liven up the  tour, the enthusiastic students were auditioned for voice tests, where they performed and recorded scripted ads and shows. It was a practical experience for the students where they witnessed and experienced how two different types of businesses operate functionally.

Grade 9 B&C at Lunch & Refreshment Outing

Lunch will be provided by school and students should come with their school uniform.   Due to immense pressure of Assessment Examinations and extra curriculum activities, the birthday celebration for Class 9B and 9C students were piling up. in order to make up for it, the students and their class teacher Ms. Fariya Hossain planned to have a grand group lunch at Burger King as well as fetch refreshment drinks from Chatime in Uttara. The objective of the outing was to maintain good relation among peers and their tutor as well as to take a break from their hectic schedules. Majority of the students joined for the feast and it was a joyous outing filled with laughter, fun and good food.

Grade 11 Celebrates 100th Chemistry Class

On 15th November, Grade 11 students, along with their Chemistry teacher Ms.Menekse and Class teacher Ms.Hamide, had a lovely gathering upon completing their 100th Period of studying Chemistry since the beginning of academic year. This fun festivity hasn't only given them the realization of how far they have come up in the preparation for As Level examinations, but also provided them with a bunch of fun memory that they will relish in future.

Girls Participated in AKS Football Tournament

It is really pleasant experience for our young football players at AIFT 2017. This is the second time for the ITHS Girls Football Team to participate at the " AGA Khan Inter School Football" Tournament. Along with their team mates, our girls played against BIT and won at (2-0), right after that they played against AKS(White) and won at(2-0). Thus they reached to the semi-finals round and played against AKS(Black) but unfortunately they lost.
At the end of the day, thanks to our honourable coach Ms. Monoara Khanom, we have been able to achieve a strong team. This is a next step forward for winning the upcoming football tournaments and it was an incredible and strategic experience for our players. We are tremendously proud of our girls.

English Singing Contest

In order to scout hidden talents among our students, English Language Department organized their annual English Singing Contest on November 6, 2017.
The event has been  welcomed with  keen participation  of the students who practiced and rehearsed their songs for days ahead.  During the event,  more than 20 competitors performed their melodious songs  in front of judges who evaluated each performance with care according to the rubric including the criteria of Pronunciation, Gesture & Facial Expressions, Choice of Composition etc. Five finalists will be selected to perform in coming English Language Fiesta 2018.

One Dish Party-Grade 11

Grade 11A students cherished a delightful and pleasant One dish party in their homeroom time. Following the scrumptious dishes, the students had an enjoyable activity in which they shared unforgettable moments with each other starting from their primary school years to the present.

Tea&Talk with Parents of Grade 11

On a fine morning of November, the mothers of Grade 11 students have been invited to their class teacher'a house for a Tea&Talk. During their time together, they shared their thoughts and experiences, enjoyed captivating videos on core values needed for upbringing a child along with the tasty treats.

Poetry Out Loud

On 5th November, ITHS Girls Section organised Poetry recitation competition titled as Poetry Out Loud. The participants chanted their well-selected poems enthusiastically in front of the judges. The results will be announced in coming English Language Fiesta.

Birthday Party of Grade 6-B

Nafisha, Abshara, Faiza, Najifa and Sameeha had their birthdays in September and October. Their birthday was celebrated with their classmates and class teacher. Some cute small gifts were given them. They enjoyed having the cake together.

One dish party with 6B students

We had decided to throw one-dish party last week. Today students brought very yummy food such as pasta, noodles, cookies and cakes.6B students and their class teacher enjoyed the delicious  home-made food in Homeroom class. After having food students played some games with balloons.

SCHOLASTICA INTERSCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT (SIBT) 2017

Scholastica Mirpur (SRM) organized an interschool Basketball tournament on 13^th and 14^th of October 2017. Many schools took part in the tournament and ITHS was also a part of it. The tournament took place at the Mirpur branch of Scholastica.

All the members of the Basketball team (Captain Nalan Carpan 10B, Farzia Binte Karim 11B, Fariha Safa Khan 10B, Maliha Zaman 9B, Meher Nigar 9B, Ayshe Reyhan 8B, Vishwa Patel 8B, Faiza Fatema 7A, Samiha 6B, Sumeyra 6B, Jinia 6B, Samira 6A) and our PE teacher Miss Monoara Khanom along with our Basketball coach went to the venue.  The players warmed up their bodies before the match. Our first match was with Hurdco International School. ITHS won the match with the score Hurdco-2 and ITHS-34 (Hurdco 1 score, ITHS 17 scores). The match was really interesting. After successfully winning the first match, ITHS had to play another match with Scholastica  Uttata (SRU). Guess what? ITHS won this match too! ITHS took lead during the whole match. The score was tied at 9/9 for sometime and Scholastica scored a free shot and now the score was Scholastica-10 and ITHS-9. The match was intense. The players were fully focused. It was the last quarter. And just before 4 seconds before the ending Nalan the captain of the team scored and it was a basket. ITHS had won with the score 9/11 (Scholastica 9, ITHS 11).

After winning both the matches ITHS reached the Semi Finals and had to play the next day with Sunbeams and Scholastica Mirpur (SRM) as well (14^th October 2017). Unfortunately, they couldn’t win with Sunbeams as they were a very well-prepared and good team. But our school tried their best to win. At least they reached the Semi Finals, which is a very big deal and is not a piece of cake. Although they could not become the champions this time but “Life Is All About The Next Step”.

The captain of our team Nalan Zehra Carpan become the best thrower at the tournament.

12B Birthday Celebration and Class Teacher’s Birthday Treat

12B celebrated Anika Saiara's birthday on 16th October, 2017 at 1.00 pm in BFC (sector 13). It was a surprise birthday arranged by all her friends from 12B and Class teacher Basma Miss. They were also given treat on the same day by their class teacher for her own birthday which was 2 weeks back. The students arranged gifts, flowers, cards and homemade cake for their beloved friend on her birthday.
