This February, ITHS Senior Girls Section hosted its first Girls inter-school
football tournament on February 6, 2016. The finest schools from all around Dhaka
were invited to take part in the event. Seven schools were chosen to
participate. Groups were posted, teams trained hard before the occasion,
coaches submitted the squad lists, and before long, the tournament was
underway. The participating schools included International Turkish Hope School,
(ITHS), Chittagong Grammar School (CGS), Aga Khan School (AKS), Yale International School , Sunbeams School
and Scholastica School . Two teams from ITHS had participated, named ITHS Red
and ITHS Green.
In the morning, when the event was initiated and the first matches were played, all the teams felt the strain of the competition as rivalry grew, a sense of thrill had built up, and every team wanted to prove themselves better .Finally, Aga Khan School and ITHS Red made it to semi finals in Group A, whilst Sunbeams and Scholastica had semi final match in their group. The taste of defeat was bitter, as the group stages were over and five teams including our school teams had been eliminated. The teams progressing to final match were Aga Khan School and Sunbeams School. At the end of the day, Aga Khan School hold the Trophy of Championship the tournament and Sunbeams rising the trophy of Runners-Up. Fatema Tuz Zahoora from grade 7 of ITHS was qualified as the best goal keeper of the event. The tournament had left all the players battle hardened and yearning for victory for the coming tournaments.
