Science Fair

An inter-school science fair has been held on 29-30th January 2016 in Scholastica. Forty five schools with 180 projects participated in the contest. Three groups who were qualified as winners in our school science fair went to represent us and their talents. The Ministry of Education was the chief guest. Our students had a great experience seeing a different variety of projects and interacting with students from other schools. They were accompanied by Mr. RockibulKarim and Miss MenekseTok.

ITHS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM WHIPS AWAY THE THIRD PLACE PLATE IN ITS FIRST TOURNAMENT

2016 High School Girls Basketball Tournament has been arranged by DISA (Dhaka International School Association) in cooperation with AISD and ISD on  Friday, 22nd January. Our school basketball team which has been reformed at the beginning of this academic year  took their part in this a-day-long event. The tournament was inaugurated by  our team's game against ISD which ITHS defeated  with a score of 21-16. After all the  games within the pool played according to  round-robin play format, our players had crossed over Canadian Trillium School to get the third position of the tournament. After 40 minutes of battle between the two teams, players of ITHS Girls Basketball Team raised the third position plate and hold the bronze medals jubilantly. 

PLATE- CHAMPIONSHIP AT INTER-SCHOOL BADMINTON TOURNAMENT


ITHS have participated in the Inter-School Badminton tournament held by AISD. Students from both Senior girls and boys section have taken part in this competition with great interest. The tournament had taken place within three days differing in two separate categories, one being for advanced level and the other for intermediate level. After many competitive rounds, finally, ITHS and AISD passed to the finals and played against one another. With great achievement, our school got the first position in Plate Championship and brought the plate into our school along with them.

AUDITION FOR THE 5th BANGLA OLYMPIAD


 International Turkish Hope School is organizing the 5th Bangla Olympiad. The auditions were held on 19th January 2016, Bangla Olympiad selections took place in the Senior Girls section of ITHS with the participation of  22 students for different categories. The respected judges were our following supporting teachers; Rozina Miss, Menekse Miss, Munni Miss and Happy Miss. The commitment towards the competition was seen glowing in the participants’  eyes throughout the audition.

FIELD TRIP TO BANGLADESH AIR FORCE MUSEUM


 On 16th January 2016, the students from class 9, 10 and the hostel visited BAF (Bangladesh Air Force) Museum, solely dedicated to display the rich heritage and glorious history of BAF located in Tejgaon, Dhaka. They were supervised by respected teachers;  Basma Miss, Hamide Miss as well as Ozer Sir. After exploring the ancient helicopters and airplanes used in war, they also had enormous fun in the amusement park recognized as “The Sky Park” and 'The Boat Club'.

SAT PREP COURSE FOR A LEVEL STUDENTS


SAT (Standardized Aptitude Test) is widely used for college admissions all around the world. Our school has organized a 10-day course programme including 3-hour session for each day for the students in Grade 11&12. Continuing  from 24th December to 4th Jan, the preparation classes have been taken by two teachers who came from USA particularly for this course. The students had an opportunity to practice newly constructed format of SAT papers on both English and Mathematics.

END OF THE TERM CLASS PARTIES

It was time to provide a memorable send off for all the students in school! Cool weather was here, and girls (and parents and teachers!) were dreaming about winter vacation. End of the term class parties were a great way to close out the term with a bang! After the release of the exam stress and anxiety, they all had great fun with amazing activities, movies and games.

Victory Day Programme

The International Turkish Hope School has organized a Grand Victory Day Celebration of Bangladesh, on 15th of December, 2015. Victory was observed in a befitting manner and with colorful display of the Bengali culture and its history. The event brought out utmost festivity at the ITHS auditorium in the main campus which has already been decorated with miniatures of National Mausoleum, colourful festoons and digitized banners portraying the memorable moments of the nation’s victory in the war of liberation.

Parents Badminton Tournament

 Another beautiful event was organized at International Turkish Hope School  for the parents on 11th December,2015. It started off as a cold morning followed by warm weather as all the parents began to arrive in  Indoor Sports Hall at main campus.  

English in Action 2015 in AIUB


A group of students from Grade 11 and 12 have participated in a day-long event organized by The Department of English of American International University under the banner of English in Action 2015 involving students of A-Level schools and Colleges in Dhaka. The grand finale of the events was held on 10 December, 2015 at Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Building, AIUB. The events in the fest include contest in five different categories: Debate, Impromptu Speech, Spelling Contest, Poster Presentation and Expository Writing from Prompt. At the end of the day, after the vibrant contests, our students have collected their certificates presented by Professor Dr. Tazul Islam, the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Grade 8 BBQ and Hostel Program

The students of Grade 8 had a  splendid BBQ party on the rooftop  of our school. Having all the joyous games and activities, not-to-mention the delicious food, everybody had a wonderful time with their respected class teacher Ms.Menekse. The party was followed by a stay-over in Girls' hostel which the students enjoyed a lot through the whole night.

Winter Donation

As temperatures start to drop this month, School Magazine Club of ITHS Girls Section has launched its annual winter clothing drive. Donations of coats, sweaters, blankets and warm accessories collected within our school have been handed over Leonard Cheshire Disability Foundation located in Sector 9, Uttara. The goods have been distributed by the members of the club along with their teachers Ms. Hamide and Ms. Menekse to the residents of this locally managed NGO which works to promote equal opportunity and full participation of persons with disabilities in all areas of society. Not only this endowment has ensured that no handicapped will face the cold weather without adequate protection, but also has  it significantly raised the social-consciousness of our students.
