Jasmin Miss Got Syed Mutaba Ali Award 2017

Our Girls Section's Senior Bangla Teacher, Jasmin Munni got Syed Mujtaba Ali Award for writing a novel about travelling named "Istanbul Upakkhan". The award ceremony held on Lakeshore hotel in Gulshan . She has also recieved a gift voucher of TK.50,000 and a crest. Jasmin Munni started writing since 1996. After finishing her Post graduation from Chittagong University she came back to Dhaka and got a scholarship on writing from Bangla Academy (Tarun Lekhok Prokalpa). Ten of her books have been published from many different publications. "Istanbul Upakkhan" is a novel about travelling. In 2011, she visited Turkey with 14 students for a study tour. By sharing all her experiences regarding the tour; she has written the novel. It is all about the five biggest city of Turkey. Turkey is a large country in the shape of a rectangle - the only country bordered by four seas; the Mediterranean, the Aegean, the Black Sea of Marmara. Istanbul is split by the Bosphorus a narrow strait connecting the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara, the smallest sea in the world which the Turks affectionately call the "sweet sea". Istanbul is a glorious, fascinating city, a perpetual divide
between West and East, the past and the present, secularism and Islam and between conservation and progress. Today the city looks like an old lady, with its silhouette of minarets and its long bridge, a city of magic and mystery. It has kept its magnificent ruins of the past and the glory of a place at one time dominated by three empires, fabulous Byzantium, then the Constantinople the magnificent, and today beautiful Istanbul. "Pamukkale" is one of the most precious and atractive places in the world which is situated in a city of Turkey named Denizli. The place looks like cotton terraces. The underground water once gave life to the ancient city of Hierapolis which now helps Pamukkale to be one of the most important thermal centers of Turkey. It is a world heritage. They also visited Antalya for rafting and had a different experience. You can try a rafting trip in Antalya as well. It would be an exciting day out which would give us the opportunity to race with the rapids whilst viewing the breathtaking green forests...
